Michael W Halsall Solicitors is one of the UK’s leading firms of solicitors specialising in personal injury litigation, providing high quality legal advice to large client organisations.
Business Challenge
As part of the agreement with clients the practice must produce a series of management information reports each month covering performance against their key indicators. These reports are generated from data entered throughout the day by more than 30 different fee-earners in the organisation.
Any anomalies in the reports, caused by errors in entering data were only spotted at the end of the month, when all the reports had been produced. This left only a short time window of 3-4 days for all the reports to be reviewed, anomalies identified and for appropriate rectification. A one-off monthly report also only provided a single snapshot of performance against the key indicators and no ability to monitor this performance on an on-going basis throughout the month.

One option would have been to produce management reports more frequently but this simply created an increase in workload. Active Dashboards offered an obvious solution to managing performance throughout the month. The system integrated easily with the existing systems to present key performance data in real-time using a variety of chart types.
