With all Essilor lenses made to order from a catalogue running to nearly 400 pages and with stringent turnaround times, the close monitoring of production output, quality levels, order processing and products returns is critically important.
Using Excel for reporting and analysis, based upon historical information downloaded from an AS400 system meant that there was no real-time monitoring of production or order fulfilment. It was also very difficult to look at trends in performance over time A solution was needed which would provide the ability to view and analyse information in real-time.
