From London to all over the North West! 700 odd miles round, 7 different clients, 4 different industry sectors, all over 5 days.
Having recently joined as the new account manager for Dynistics, it was time for me to go to meet some of our wonderful clients!
It was a great experience meeting the people that are developing and using Active Dashboards, and transforming their masses of data into insightful and meaningful visualisations; receiving great feedback about the capabilities of Active Dashboards, and learning how different organisations are using them for different KPIs.
The clients I visited included one of the UK’s largest Universities, an industry leader for Insurance Recruitment, and a market leading college with almost 90,000 students who are also one of the largest providers of offender learning in the country.
Each client was at a different stage in the Dynistics cycle; ranging from a newly signed/pre-implementation client starting to pull information together for the beginning of their project to a mature client who has been with Dynistics for several years and has invested significant internal resources to build some of the most impressive Dashboards seen by any of us!
My week started off at a Recruitment firm in London. They are at the final stage of pre-implementation and are scheduled to roll out their Active Dashboards very soon. On the whole they are all extremely excited and cannot wait to go live and realise how much ROI they will achieve through the dashboards.
My next visit took me to Manchester, where I met with a College who had signed with Dynistics last year, but never really got a chance to develop and roll out the dashboards to their staff. After they attended our user conference in April, saw first-hand not only how other colleges were using the product but how much they were benefiting from their use, it gave them the incentive to crack on with development and they are now scheduled to roll out their Dashboards to the governors and SMT in September! What was also great to hear is how friendly and helpful the Dynistics clients are with each other. The Dynistics User Conference has enabled all our clients to create a community and they are willing to speak with each other and share tips and tricks that they’ve learned themselves. It’s always good to share knowledge!
Heading out again, I found myself in floor to ceiling glass windowed offices overlooking Manchester’s main business district. This time to visit the market leader in Recruitment for the Insurance Sector. They’re in the development stage of their Dashboards, and will predominantly be using Active Dashboards as a BI Tool. I sat down and spoke with the internal project leader, and asked him what made him choose Active Dashboards over the other products they were looking at. He told me one of the products he reviewed looked fantastic visually, but didn’t do much in terms of functionality; another had great functionality but ‘looked like something from the 80s!’ The decision to go with Active Dashboards was an almost immediate and very simple one because it was a combination of great functionality and excellent visuals.
My final day took me to another college in the North West. Here, Active Dashboards have been rolled out to all the teaching staff, and they are now developing more Dashboards for their Governors and SMT to access. This model is slightly different to most other colleges, where the main users are the heads of departments and the SMT. They have taken the opposite approach and the teaching staff find that using the Dashboards are hugely beneficial because it allows them to identify potential problems, e.g. in enrolment/attendance, and make decisions a lot quicker to improve results.
So, what did I achieve from the week? I saw that all 7 clients are benefitting in their own ways from the award-winning Active Dashboards software: they’ve added a number of good enhancement suggestions to the product roadmap to be included in the next 1-2 releases; I saw how some clients can extend the use of the tool way beyond the “out the box” dashboards provided with the software and ultimately how clients really can see the business benefit and associated return-on-investment behind a well-executed dashboard/BI solution. I can’t wait to visit the next set of clients in early August.
